"Women told us what they wanted. We listened and incorporated these findings into our founding principles, which have been adopted by the broader project team including the architects, interior designers and builders.”
- Lisa Dunlop, Royal Women’s Hospital Director of Redevelopment

The Community

We are committed to meeting the needs and desires of the community. A number of activities, including this project website, have been devised in order to keep interested parties comprehensively informed during the current design and construction process.

Community Relations Approach

From the beginning, we have relied on an ongoing process of community consultation and briefings to ensure we understood exactly what you want from this new hospital.

Consultation on the new Women's was undertaken in 2001 and involved over 1,000 women. To read more about the consultation, click
here.

Five community principles were identified through the consultation. These principles are:

Community values
Quality
Access
Service options
Patient care.

These principles have guided, and will continue to guide, our approach to the development of the new Women's.
