"Ive worked on many sites, but to be involved in the building of a facility dedicated to the health of women and newborn babies is particularly rewarding"

- Melanie Bull, A grade electrician working on the new Women's.

The Women's is moving from its current location on Grattan Street to a new site next to The Royal Melbourne Hospital in Parkville, Melbourne.

The new hospital has been built on the area previously occupied by the Charles Connibere Building ("CCB"), as indicated on the map below.

Building a better hospital

The new Women's will be equipped to meet future challenges in providing quality healthcare to all women and newborn babies. It will provide world-class facilities in areas such as:

gynaecology
obstetrics
neonatal intensive and special care
cancer care
maternity
menopause and
sexual health treatment

The new Women's is a stand-alone specialist hospital. But by being located adjacent to The Royal Melbourne Hospital, patients will enjoy the benefits of improved access to critical care facilities. Patients in both hospitals will also benefit from their shared specialist expertise.
